The Sandler was created to be the successor to CBF's most popular cruiser, the Stone-Cargo. The Sandler was aimed for a market that for rapidly emerging during the end of the GST era, a market for smaller, more versatile cruisers. This plan failed in many respects. Although the Sandler is technically more sophisticated than the Stone-cargo consumers were more interested in the aging design because of its sheer size to cost ratio. The Sandler is much more expensive than the Stone-Cargo on a ton-to-credit basis, and never gained the huge popularity of the big ugly stone-cargo. |
